​In many mythologies and spiritual traditions, horses are seen as creatures that help guide
individuals on journeys of transformation. They are associated with travel, movement,
and the passage from one state of being to another, symbolizing both the literal and
metaphorical journey in life. 

These new paintings continue the artist exploration of the strength, beauty and athleticism
of the horse with a new focus on the symbolism of the horse and the relationship between
horse and rider. Ultimately, the meanings we associate with horses vary but the work here
seeks to be a more narrative reflection on themes of freedom, transition, and connection
to something greater than ourselves.
